The important part
Naming rules
A character gets a new name with every successful rename. When the clock finally runs out, the current name wins.

The key rule
You pay to rename—not to guarantee time in control.
A successful rename is a completed purchase, not a refundable deposit. Payments are generally final. Refunds may be issued for moderation disqualifications, technical errors, duplicate charges, or other exceptional circumstances approved by the operator. Losing control or the final naming position normally is not refundable.

Quiet period
Required without a rename before the auction can close.
The naming window
Each character stays open for a configured minimum period. Every successful rename adds to the character’s cumulative value and immediately makes that event’s name and payer current.
The final current name at the authoritative close wins. Payments first confirmed after close cannot change the result and are sent for operator review.
Price and value
Opening renames start at $5. After that, the minimum is 50% of the immediately previous successful rename contribution, rounded up to the nearest $5, with a $5 floor.
A bigger rename makes the next takeover more expensive. The minimum is checked when Checkout is created; if it changes while you pay, your already-valid Checkout can still complete and take control.
Every successful rename payment adds its full amount to the character’s cumulative value, whether or not that name ultimately wins. Tiers depend only on that cumulative value—not the changing takeover minimum.
The quiet-period finish
Once the minimum open period has passed, the character closes only after its configured quiet period passes without a successful rename.
Every successful rename during that closing window restarts the quiet period, so a last-second rename can’t end the auction before someone else has a chance to respond.
Safety and moderation
Names are screened for severe abuse and unsafe content before Checkout. Public display names are user-provided and unverified. Winner URLs must use HTTPS and are screened for malicious and obvious adult-content destinations.
Anyone can report an offensive name, impersonation, or unsafe link. A moderator can remove a paid rename from public history and optionally refund it.
Winning attribution and Winner URL click counts are historical and informational. They do not guarantee traffic or commercial results.
